Videoscan
Videoscan allows the user to visualise how their Urbis products will look when they are installed. This gives the designer an instant feel for what they think will be the best solution.
The customer can also be shown several design options, so that comparisons can be made between different lanterns, brackets, mounting heights, colours and so on.
With so many street lighting products available in the market, it can often be difficult to envisage how your new lighting project will impact on a street or urban space. Browsing catalogues or going to see an installation can only go so far, as each lighting scheme is unique.
This process helps ensure you get planning permission more quickly, as you can see how to plan around those contentious areas. It also speeds the design phase along, as solutions that obviously don’t work can be dismissed early on.
We have assisted over 100 customers a year to visualise how their new lighting schemes will look in reality.
How does the process work?
Photos are taken of the street or area, which are then scanned into Videoscan.
Next, all the existing lighting equipment is edited out and a proposed layout is superimposed onto the picture. As the system holds a wide variety of our products taken at different angles, this gives the designer the flexibility to choose the most suitable view.
To ensure the customer has a sense of scale when looking at the output, we make sure the surrounding buildings and landscape, are included in the photo.
Once the customer is happy with the look and positioning of the new equipment, we then produce the final output.
The output can come in the form of a series of ‘before and after’ shots. Customers can request these as either quality A4 glossy prints, or the graphics can be e-mailed to fit neatly into a presentation format.
Remember, the vast majority of our products can be displayed on Videoscan, from luminaires through to street furniture. If you want to find out more about Videoscan, then please contact us, or email us at sales@urbislighting.com
