Edinburgh offers a unique combination of heritage, colour and culture. Over the last two years, five busy areas around the city have all received a face lift.
Background
Urbis' Hestia luminaires were supplied, mainly mounted atop 10m columns, finished in a standard dark grey colour. Installing the new lighting gave the council the opportunity to start using more white light, so the majority of the Hestias are fitted with either 150W CDM-T or 250W HCI-T lamp, depending on the layout of the buildings and architecture of the street. In particular, the HCI-T lamps produce a welcoming warm light which is ideal for lighting public spaces.
