Lamp

Protection

  • Self-resetting thermal cut-out fitted in ballast.

Optical Unit

  • Sealsafe® IP66 sealed beam optic comprising reflector No 1200 bonded to a 1-piece moulded round polycarbonate protector bowl via a transition plate. For use with 50W70W/100W lamps.
  • Sealsafe® IP66 sealed beam optic comprising reflector No 1312 bonded to a 1-piece moulded round polycarbonate protector bowl via a transition plate. For use with 100W/150W/250W lamps.

Canopy

  • Spun aluminium having stoved black finish (using polyester powder coating process over a RoHS-compliant chrome passivation substrate), and housing the control gear module.

Skirt

  • Spun aluminium, having stoved white finish (using polyester powder coating process over a RoHS-compliant chrome passivation substrate). Secured to framework by means of a hinge and 2 No. knurled knob screws and, when lowered, giving access to control gear and lampholder.

PECU

  • Option. Fitted to canopy, (using watertight gasket) and wired to lantern control gear. Type 'Microstar' (70 lux).

Installation Information

Mounting:

  • Top entry mounting on a 1¼" BSP parallel threaded stainless steel tube and lock nuts. (The Small Karl Johan can also be stirrup mounted. The Large Karl Johan is available with a catenary mounting option.)

Photometric Centre:

  • Photometric centre is positioned centrally in the lantern body
